ABOUT THE EVENT
We are thrilled to announce that on September 28, 2017, MLK Montessori will be hosting its first-ever SmartStart Soirée. At this elegant event, community leaders, art lovers, and educational advocates will gather at Ashberry Real Estate’s East End Loft in downtown Fort Wayne for an evening of appetizers, cocktails, and – most importantly – art.
The event will include both silent and live auctions featuring collaborative art pieces donated by local and national artists. Each one-of-a-kind piece will be inspired by and paired with the artwork of an MLK student. Not only will the evening be fun, unique, and inspiring, it will also help to support the vital work of our school.
Did you know that, when they enter kindergarten, children from low-income families typically perform far behind their more advantaged peers – both socially and academically? This puts them at an immediate disadvantage that stunts their potential and costs society. A quality preschool education stops this achievement gap in its tracks.
