The Student/Artist Collaboration for our SmartStart Soirée & Art Auction will be repeated again in 2018

In April 2017, MLK Montessori students produced original works of art for Week of the Young Child. 10 artists selected works by 11 students. After meeting with the students themselves or viewing the childrens' interviews with MLK staff, the artists produced amazing original works inspired by the creativity of our students. These pieces were sold at our live auction event September 2017, and allowed us to raise over $6,000 to support our early childhood program for low income students.

This April, we are again working with students to create unique works of art. This time, the theme of the project is "I have a dream." Again, we've invited professional artists to be inspired by our students to produce one-of-a-kind pieces that we will auction at our October 11th SmartStart Soirée event, this time celebrating MLK's 50th anniversary.
